Peshawar, September 22, 2026: Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU), Peshawar, in collaboration with SHARP-Pakistan and the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Islamabad, organized a Legal Literacy Session on Prevention of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Workplace Harassment on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 10:30 AM in the DVC Hall, SBBWU Peshawar.
The session was organized under the SHARP-Women Initiative of SHARP-Pakistan, with the objective of raising awareness about legal rights, prevention of gender-based violence, workplace harassment, and available support mechanisms.
Students from Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Peshawar, and City District College for Women, Peshawar (an affiliated college of SBBWU) participated in the session as participants.
The session featured distinguished resource persons, including Ms. Memoona Batool Khan, Project Director, SHARP-Pakistan KP, and Mr. Javed Khan, Project Manager, SHARP-Pakistan, who shared their knowledge and professional experience in human rights, gender justice, legal aid, and GBV prevention.
The interactive question-and-answer session provided participants with an opportunity to seek clarification, engage with the resource persons, and enhance their understanding of legal protection and support mechanisms.
The distinguished guests and resource persons appreciated the efforts of Ms. Tashfeen Zia, Deputy Director Student Affairs, SBBWU Peshawar, and Ms. Shehla Zahoor, Assistant Professor, Department of Law, SBBWU Peshawar, for their valuable contributions and efforts in organizing the session. Special thanks were extended to both officials for their dedication and support in promoting legal awareness and ensuring the successful conduct of the event
The event concluded with a vote of thanks and closing remarks, emphasizing the importance of awareness, dignity, and collective efforts to promote safer and more respectful educational and professional environments.

Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Peshawar successfully organized a seminar on "Tawazun – Narrative on Population Growth" with Dr. Aneela Mahfooz Durrani, Secretary, Population Welfare Department, KP, as the Chief Guest. The event was attended by faculty, officers, students, and participants from affiliated colleges, including GGDC Mathra and GGDC Chagharamatti. The Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Farhat Amin, highlighted the importance of balanced population growth and sustainable development. Certificates and shields were distributed at the conclusion of the seminar.

Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU), Peshawar, held a dignified ceremony to commemorate Defence Day, honouring the courage and sacrifices of Pakistan's armed forces and martyrs. Ms. Mehar Sultana, MPA, attended as Chief Guest, alongside Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Farhat Amin, faculty, representatives of affiliated colleges, and students. The event opened with a plantation ceremony symbolizing hope and peace, followed by a student-curated Defence Day exhibition highlighting Pakistan's national history. Proceedings included Quran recitation, the National Anthem, and a welcome address by Prof. Dr. Farhat Amin, with students presenting a patriotic video message, debate, and cultural performances alongside a national history quiz. The event was organized by Ms. Tashfeen Zia (Deputy Registrar) and Ms. Shehla Zahoor (Department of Law), with support from Mr. Waqar, HHRD Focal Person, and the HHRD team led by President Aiman Samreen and General Secretary Linta Babar. Guests underscored the importance of patriotism, unity, and educating youth about national sacrifice. The ceremony concluded with certificate and souvenir distribution and group photographs, reaffirming SBBWU's commitment to honouring Pakistan's martyrs and promoting unity and national service.

Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar (SBBWU), organized a CSS/PMS Workshop on 3rd September 2026 (Thursday) at in the DVC Hall. Students of SBBWU along with students from its affiliated colleges actively participated in this informative and career-oriented session. This workshop reflects SBBWU's continued commitment to empowering young women toward competitive career paths through quality mentorship and skill-building initiatives.

The Digital Clinic was established under the leadership and support of Vice Chancellor Dr. Farhat Amin. The initiative was facilitated through the collaborative efforts of the University team, including Dr. Sadia Butt, Ms. Tashfeen, Dr. Irum and Dr. Mehreen. The facility will provide a range of healthcare services, including preventive health screening, primary and OPD consultations, rapid diagnostic testing, specialist teleconsultations and digital medical records. The initiative aims to facilitate timely access to healthcare, promote early detection of health concerns, and improve continuity of care within the University premises. The establishment of the Digital Clinic reflects SBBWUP’s commitment to promoting the health, wellbeing, and welfare of its students and staff through innovative and digitally enabled healthcare solutions.

Peshawar, April 22, 2026 – Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU), Peshawar and the Society for Skill Trainings and Development (SSTD) signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today to strengthen collaboration in research, skill development.

After successfully completing the ANSO-CPJRC-COMSATS International Training Workshop on Disaster Risk Reduction and Green Development for CPEC, Ms. Tashfeen Zia, Deputy Registrar, SBBWUP, has proposed a cascading action plan for affiliated women’s institutions across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The initiative will focus on disseminating key learning related to disaster preparedness, climate resilience, early warning systems, green development, and community safety. Through targeted awareness sessions and capacity-building activities, the plan aims to strengthen female institutions, particularly in vulnerable and newly merged districts, while promoting safer, more resilient, and sustainable academic environments.

The Affiliation & Monitoring Section, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar, organized an Orientation and Guidance Session on the HEC Career and Internship Framework at DVC Hall, SBBWUP.
As Deputy Registrar (Affiliation & Monitoring), welcomed the faculty representatives from our affiliated colleges and briefing them on the purpose and agenda of the session. The session was graced by **Dr. Farhat Amin, Vice Chancellor, SBBWUP**, who provided valuable guidance on the HEC Internship Policy, including its procedures, implementation mechanisms, documentation standards, reporting requirements, and compliance at the college level. The interactive question-and-answer session further helped clarify practical aspects of implementation for affiliated colleges. This initiative reflects our commitment to strengthening academic governance, career readiness, and institutional coordination under the **Undergraduate Education Policy Version 1.1**. Through such focused engagements, we aim to support our affiliated colleges in ensuring smooth, timely, and effective implementation of the mandatory internship framework for students.

The session was facilitated by Mr. Subhash Chander, Project Lead, Peshawar Entrepreneurship Program (PEP), SUBHASH Educational Complex (SEC). The program is supported by the U.S. Mission to Pakistan in partnership with the Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN). The objective of the session was to create awareness among students regarding entrepreneurship, startup development, innovation and business creation opportunities available through the PEP initiative. Students from various academic departments attended the session and were introduced to the benefits of entrepreneurship, startup incubation, mentorship opportunities and the activities planned under the program, including entrepreneurship training sessions, bootcamps, industry visits and pitch competitions. During the session, Mr. Subhash Chander encouraged students to explore entrepreneurial pathways and actively participate in the program to develop innovative business ideas and leadership skills. The participants showed keen interest and engaged in an interactive discussion regarding startup opportunities and entrepreneurship in the region. The organizers highly appreciated the efforts and support extended by Ms. Tashfeen Zia, Deputy Registrar, SBBWU Peshawar, and Ms. Ayesha Maqsood, Assistant Registrar (Affiliation & Monitoring), for their valuable coordination and facilitation in organizing the awareness session and ensuring the participation of students from across the university. The event concluded with a question-and-answer session, and students were encouraged to apply for participation in the upcoming activities of the Peshawar Entrepreneurship Program.

AFDC was represented by Principal Ms. Zeenat, Manager Academics and CS faculty members.Guidance was provided on accreditation requirements as the college has already applied for the NECAC zero visit and subsequent process. SBBWU reaffirmed its support to affiliated colleges in meeting quality assurance standards.
